Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Next Chapter Apps, the creator of The Wedding Chapter, collects and uses personal information submitted through this website. Last updated 1 August 2026.
Who is responsible for your information
Next Chapter Apps is responsible for deciding how personal information collected through this website is used. For privacy questions or requests, email hellotheweddingchapter@gmail.com.
Information we collect
If you join the early list, we collect your first name, email address, country or region, approximate wedding month and year, your marketing choice and the date of submission.
If you apply for early access, we also collect the information shown in the application: your partner’s first name if provided, wedding date or estimate, wedding location or region, planning stage, computer platform, current planning tools, planning frustrations, what you would like help with, willingness to give feedback, acceptance of the Early Access Terms and the applicable terms version.
Our hosting and security providers may process limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information and request logs, where necessary to deliver and protect the website.
Please do not include sensitive personal information about yourself, your partner or your guests in free-text answers.
Why we use it
We use early-list details to send occasional development and launch emails. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us.
We use early-access application details to review applications, select suitable testers, contact applicants about the outcome, arrange and administer early access if you are selected, and understand the planning needs of potential users.
We process application information because you have asked us to consider you for early access. We also have a legitimate interest in selecting and managing an appropriate testing group and improving the product using relevant feedback.
Marketing consent is optional and separate from accepting the Early Access Terms. Applying for early access does not add you to the early list unless you choose the optional marketing checkbox.
We do not use solely automated decision-making to select early testers.
Is providing the information compulsory?
Fields marked “Required” must be completed so that we can process the selected form. You do not have to provide optional information or agree to receive marketing emails when applying for early access.
Joining the early list is specifically a request to receive development and launch emails, so marketing consent is required for that sign-up option.
How MailerLite is involved
We use MailerLite to store submissions, organise the early list and early-access applications, and send emails. MailerLite processes this information on our behalf as a data processor.
MailerLite states that subscriber information belonging to UK customers served by MailerLite Limited is stored in the European Union. MailerLite and its approved service providers may process information in other countries where permitted by data-protection law and subject to appropriate safeguards. You can read MailerLite’s Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.
Who else receives your information?
Information may also be processed by service providers that host, secure or maintain the website. We may disclose information to professional advisers, regulators, courts or public authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required.
We do not sell personal information or provide the early list to other businesses for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Early-list information is kept until you unsubscribe or we stop sending development and launch updates. If the list is no longer active, we will delete or anonymise the information within 24 months of our last email. We may retain a minimal suppression record where necessary to make sure we respect an unsubscribe request.
Applications that are not selected are deleted or anonymised within six months after the selection process finishes. Information about selected testers is kept while early access is active and for up to 12 months afterwards, unless it is needed for longer to resolve an issue or meet a legal obligation.
Privacy correspondence is normally kept for up to 12 months after the request is resolved. MailerLite may keep securely isolated backups for a limited period in accordance with its own retention procedures.
Website analytics and cookies
We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider may use technologies that are strictly necessary to deliver, protect and operate the website.
If we introduce non-essential cookies or external analytics in the future, we will update this policy and provide any choices required by law before enabling them.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict how it is used, object to processing based on legitimate interests, receive certain information in a portable format, or withdraw consent at any time.
Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect processing that took place before it was withdrawn. To exercise a right, email hellotheweddingchapter@gmail.com. We may need to ask for enough information to confirm your identity.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, product or service providers change. The latest version will appear on this page with its revision date.
If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will bring it to the attention of affected people where required.
